Help me! im not sure whats a good board for me.

hi. ive just started surfing last summer and try to surf as often as i can. I have a couple of questions n wud really appreciate the help. Ive decided to buy a board but im not too sure which board wud be best. i am 5' 10" and 145. I want a tite board that is good for beginners but i can still use it as i progress and i get better. i also want a board where i can learn to do trick like carve n stuff. thanks

get a bic 7.3 or a bic 7.6 performer check out www.bicsport.com always ask the guy at the shop though he will give you the best advice if you are honest about your level of surfing

Well, i would stay away from bics, i personally hate them. But it sounds like you want to go short eventually?
If so, get mabye a 6'4 fish, it will have plenty of float to learn on, but allow you to get some nice turns when you get better. But it also depends on the waves your surfing. If you have small mushy waves, then go with a slightly larger fish, or a funbaord.... mabye 7'2.... if you have nice hollow waves, i would go with a 6'2 fish or mabye a 6'6 regular shortboard.

Ive just started surfing aswell and I have a 6'6 Webber Fatburner, basically a fish. Its great, learning quickly.

Yeah but if you're a beginner and you slam down a short board then you'll have just lost £300 odd quid.

My advice, get the performer like he said but BIS longboards about 7.5 to 8.0 feet are great due to excellent floatation and easiness to paddle.

Although in the end, I still recommend the Performer which I myself am getting in a couple of weeks.

Hey just wondering if any of you got the Bic 7 ft 6 performer in the end? I saw it in a surf shop and it seemed really light so I'm now thinking of getting it for my first board (I'm 5 ft 3 and can stand up on foam boards) Would it be too advanced for me? Bic seem to be marketing it at experienced surfers. How did ye get on with it?
