Finbox install help

Postby RussH » Wed Oct 20, 2021 7:59 pm

Hi,

Home shaper & having trouble routing the hole for the fin boxes!

I did buy an FCS2 template but have managed to deshape this when routing. 2 of the fin holes are fine but one is little bit too big, should I add filler and sand down? or is there a better way to correct an oversized fin box hole?

Cheers

How much overage did you create ? A few millimeters or a 1 cm gap ?

Was one side routered correctly and one side routered too deep ? Or all of it was too much ?

Depth is fine but the length is slightly over by around 3 mm there is a gap.

But the sides are nice and tight ? If so, you could fill in the voids with the older technique they used to use to install FCS 1 single plugs.

Basically like installing a leash plug. After you got the plug set in with resin and got the angle correct, let that go off. After that is good and tight, you could then add in to the gap a mixture of Q-cell and resin/catalyst if it's a poly/PU board. ( just make sure to make the catalyst mixture to go off slow, not fast )
