Board questions

Postby Tomk » Sat Jan 30, 2021 8:02 pm

Hello all
Looking for reviews or thoughts on the Walden Mega Magic Tuflite 8'.
I'm looking for a board. Previously rode a Modern Double wide 8'4. It was good for beggining but feel I have almost out grown it.
Looking for something a little less volume and a little more manouverability. Modern was 89L, Walden is 82L
I have a 8' Superfish to progress to, at some point, so need something to keep up the wave count for progression.
Also thoughts on the Tuflite
Thanks
Tomk

They still make the epoxy mega magic? Great board, thought they discontinued it

I know we usually caution people trying to move down in size too quickly; but you seem to be moving too slowly. Why do you feel you need a board other than the 8ft superfish? Recognise that it is 65L or so, but reality is that if you are truly ready to move on from your current board then you should be ready to surf the Superfish - there will be some transition but it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Don’t get me wrong, the Walden is a good board and super easy to surf. But unless you were going down to, say, 7’6 or 7’2, I wouldn’t bother with it.

At the very least, surf the superfish for 10 sessions and see what you think
