First surfboard

Postby Paul_02 » Sat Aug 18, 2018 4:36 pm

Hey, I want to buy my first surfboard but I can already surf on 2-3 feet waves on the green part. About 5 years ago I surfed for my first time for 5 days, next year I did the same. After this period I didn't surf untill 2 years ago when I surfed 1 day in santa Cruz America, and then no surfing again, the next year I surfed for about 1 week in France and this year 2 weeks in North Spain. I live in Holland here but there aren't really high waves I think in the winter the waves may reach 4 feet but I've never surfed in the winter so I don't know that 100% for sure. The waves are mostly in between 2.1/2 and 5 feet. And on a 7.0 softech soft board I surfed this year in Spain which I liked because it floated well, duckdiving is therefore very hard (even a skilled person thought the same) turning was easy and it was light so carrying it to the beach was no problem. And now I'm looking to buy a board to surf in Holland apart from my vacation. I'm 16 and 121 lbs and I want to get good at surfing with a shortboard in the future. I've been advised to buy the bic 7.0 egg board, is this a good board for me or should I look into a very long shortboard or a different brand?

I'd very much appreciate any advice :-D
