new board help

Postby wsbman » Sun Jul 02, 2017 2:45 pm

I have not been surfing for twenty years, I have spinal injuries and shoulder problems :D I spent my youth bodyboarding and my twenties and thirties free dive spearfishing, so my water experience is adequate. I plan on surfing blackies, san o, bolsa chica and want a board that will paddle well, float well, and be stable enough for me to walk around on and eventually hand''em on the nose. I don't want to shred up the waves, just ride and take what is given. I'm 6'1" and a lean 160 lbs. 42 years old. plan on surfing 2-3x week.

I'm looking at used boards and have a few that I like so far:
1. 9'6" Becker San O (single fin)
2. 10'0" Robert August Corky Carroll model (2+1)

Both are in good shape, Both are the same $

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Both are pretty reasonable for your weight, height and what you want to do. Your thinking is on the mark. Enjoy the new aspects of your choice thoroughly
