Board for a tall guy

Hey, i know you get alot of these 'WHAT BOARD SHOULD I GET" topics..and this will probabaly be another one to u guys, but i started surfing last summer, on a longboard, and i can ride the wave pretty good, i was looking at a board (a short board). do u think i would be OK on a shortboard? im im around 6'4 or 5, and how short would be too short for me.

as a novice surfer, and a big guy, you should prob go for a fatboy board, if you really wanna shortboard. im considering buying one for myself as well. you should prob go 6'10" and atleast 2 5/8" thickness(correct me if im wrong yall). how much do you weigh?
