What is a "real" fin. You mean not virtual ? Plastic fins are real, you can hold it in your hand. Do you mean real fins are "Fiberglass" ? There is a difference in "Plastic" fins though. Some are more rubber, some are plain plastic like a water bucket, some are FRP - Fibre-reinforced plastic, some are composites of other materials. The Bone colored fins like FCS Glass Flex are not just plain plastic. The black ones that come on boards from China are "plasticky" flexy.
