Need a little help

Postby Oftheguy » Fri Jul 05, 2013 11:46 am

Hey!

I have been searching for a while now and I haven't reached a conclusion, so I could really need help.

I've been surfing for 3 years now. Since the beggining to now, I have always used a 7.0 surfboard, rather thick. But since I have improved my skills, waves were easier to catch. But a downside of it, was that I couldn't do much on the wave, sice the board was a bit heavy and dificult to maneuver.

So, I decided to search for a new surfboard. But I have to questions about it, since I don't understand much about surfboards. Could anyone give me a hand and help me find the most suitable board?

I'm 1.80 (5ft11) and I weight aprox 70kg (154lbs).

Since I'm not that short, what is the correct size of the board? Maybe a 6.3/6.4?

But the main question I have is what should be the thickness of the board?

I hope to receive some opinions! Thanks!

I'm six for and 200 riding a 6'3 20 2 5/8 it's super fun. When you lose all that foam and width, you definitely feel the difference, I asked for a medium taper on the rails just for a little more forgiveness but it definitely is more skater and harder to paddle. It's suggest talking to a shaper and getting his opinion on what you should step down to.
