New small wave board. HELP!!

Postby tbelz » Fri Jan 25, 2013 10:06 pm

Hey

So I'm looking for a new small wave board and I've narrowed it down to two

The Firewire Sweet Potato and the JS Pier Pony

Has anyone here ridden both of those boards?

Thanks!

Hey tbelz,

I ride my pier pony at 5'7"x21x2-3/4 and I love every bit of it. I was looking for a summertime groveler as well and demoed the PP, sweet potato, and baked potato. I honestly liked the baked better than the sweet because it seemed to snap and respond a little better due to its outline (slightly pulled in nose and diamond tail). Of course this is just my personal observation. I ended up getting one shaped with a diamond tail instead of the squash with a little vee out the back to make turns a little easier. Both of them are a blast, I ride it as a quad 95% of the time in 1-3ft as well. But it holds its own as a thruster in slightly cleaner conditions. It's kind of a coin flip between the 2 haha. Hope this helps, cheers man.
