Second Board

Postby scusurf » Wed Aug 26, 2009 5:26 am

Hi all,
I have been surfing for about a year (five days a week over the summer) on a 9' longboard. I am at a point where I feel comfortable and would like to move to a shorter board. I know that a funboard would be the best option for me but I am confused on what size to buy (I am 5' 11'' and 160-165 lbs). And for a novice, would epoxy be a better option (my longboard is fiberglass, rides well but dings up like crazy)? In other words, would switching materials be a smart choice or would a person like me notice a huge difference?

Thanks for all your help,
Ryan

BTW I live in Southern California if you know any good shapers (north of Los Angeles).

to be honest you wont feel much diffrence apart from epoxy boards are more boyant for there size, so you will be able to go abit shorter if going for one. due to your size and weight i would go for something like 6"8 x 20 x 2 3/4 like a shortboard shaped fun board and i live in the uk so dont know of any shapers in that area sorry lol
