Hi all- new guy here.

40 yo and keen to get back into surfing after a 15 year break, having lived inland and only rarely ridden a bodyboard in recent years I'm now spending more time with the folks and in laws at Lake Macquarie and Freshwater and keen to get back into it- and hopefully get our ankle biters interested too.

Previously I've ridden a 7'2" aloha that was more of an ornament around the house but now at 92kg I'm more looking forward to trying noseriding a big board on the small stuff.

Keen to chat to all. Cheers!

Welcome aboard..... Get into Freshy and go check Steve O‘Donnell boards there or look to Brookvale on Harbord Rd , Bennets + of course these days heaps of Board shops in Manly, if you come south from lake Macquarie check out Wizstix at the Entrance, my recommended board makers who, will pay attention to your needs :D

Thanks for the suggestions Jaffa

Spent a lot of time at Freshie before becoming a westie!

I've been eyeing off Bennetts 9'6" performance noserider- you must have read my mind!

Honest opinion- am I better off going with something second hand or a 9' softie first? or just pick up a new one in known good condition, pick an uncrowded small break and just go for it?

I'll check out Wizstix next time I'm up at Caves. Cheers

Go straight for your desired board, the BB one looks the goods , get your act together on an uncrowded break and start cross stepping NOW and avoid the dreaded shuffle, which will hinder noseriding :D
