Good surf town for 18 year old trying to improve my surfing in Gold/Sunshine coast. Somewhere that’s a bit of fun too. Any work going too?

Hi welcome Charlie, there is quite a bit of service/ hospitality work available around, some of it may allow you to do shift work freeing up surf time! You’ll need to have a good work ethic as lots of surfers try that way. Strong competition for the job.
Lots of competition in the better surf spots, but warm water and fairly consistent, so,progress should happen.

Charlie the entire Gold Coast Sunshine Coast area is beach after beach after beach, very capable crowds surfing.
Winter escape the cold resort strip so lots of fun too, lots of scams an dick dodgey things go on too.
You will need to arrive with a work visa or enough money to support the length of your proposed stay.
