Hello everyone, my name is Songdawg and I'm an addict. Here's my story
I'm 51, 6'01" and weigh around 190#. Two years ago my wife (Mrs. Songdawg) and I went to Hawaii with a couple of friends for their 50th birthdays. While we were there we decided to check off a bucket list item.....surfing. So, we went to Waikiki and took a lesson on the beach. Long story short, we spent the remainder of the week on surfboards trying to catch whitewater. Loved it. Couldn't stop thinking about surfing.
Fast forward to the first week of December, 2018. We booked a one week surf camp in Nosara, Costa Rica. That was a truly blissful week of surf, sun, food, surf, sun, food, beer, sleep. Repeat for 7 days. I was out of shape (who knew surfing was so physical) but pushed myself each and every second I was in the water. Holy crap......life changing.
Returned home and immediately started working out and getting into shape. Not just hitting the gym, but stretching, goof boarding, studying surfing. I became obsessed to the exclusion of all all other hobbies.
Fast forward to Xmas day. Couldn't take it anymore. Booked a trip to Tamarindo, Costa Rica for February 2019. Met and spent time shooting the S&*$ with ROBERT AUGUST! And, we surfed our asses off. Sorry for the language, just so juiced.
We are now home (Oregon) and I am about to do something completely insane.....I'm gonna surf Oregon. I hate the cold water, but am addicted to surfing more then the hatred of cold.
We are also going to Mexico in June, then have 2 weeks in Nosara right after Thanksgiving.
OMG, I have a problem! I can't surf enough. Someone help
