Hello from Southern California

Hi everyone. I'm new here, even though I have been lurking for a while. I started surfing last summer, hitting 1 year mark a few days a go in fact. Firstly I want to say a big THANK YOU for all the helpful posts across the forum. It's been a tremendous help to me.

I have skied a fair amount, windsurfed some, and boogie boarded a bit prior so I knew the stoke and I loved being in the ocean. But I never knew surfing was even better than all those things combined and more! And it's so addicting :D

Welcome. Please contribute, having someone around your level of experience helps a lot (since sometimes people forget just what it's like in those early years). What kind of board are you surfing?

Thanks! I'll def. be chiming in often.

I ride a locally shaped 9' x 22 1/8" x 2 3/4" single fin longboard. I bought it used and really really chewed up, when I was 4 months into surfing. I sort had an idea of how to repair it from fixing small dings on my kid's board, so took my time to make it water tight again. It's a bit heavier now w/ all that extra resin on but it's a total improvement from a wavestorm foamie. The guy I bought it from said he got barreled on that board locally so I know the reason I surf crappy is pretty much all due to me and not the board!
