Hi folks, thought it would be courteous to introduce myself rather than just hop in on your spot

This seems a pretty friendly kind of place - found it while looking for advice introducing kids to surfing (and you let me in which is nice, magicseaweed haven't approved me joining their forum)(am I ok to mention them here?)

Spent my youth on the beach as my parent surfed - but I didn't like it much, water was cold and we didn't have wetsuits or anything "soft" like that

Now I am all grown up (sort of) and have kids of my own, they love the water and so do I - and we all have proper wetsuits which makes a big difference in UK

My 2 girls are pretty good bodyboarders and this year want to progress to real surfing, so on the lookout for their first foamie - got a week at Scarborough and a couple of weeks in Devon booked already so it should see some use :)

The last thing you want are kids who surf better than you...

On the other hand, it means that surfing counts as quality parenting time. How cool is that!
