Morning, new guy reporting in

Hi everyone. I live in South Wales, just getting into surfing and absolutely loving it. Just bought my first board, a 9'2" NSP longboard, and a roof rack to go with it. Been to Rest Bay down Porthcawl a few times (a group of us started at the same time) and at I can't get enough :D . Probably look a bit daft launching from standing with a longboard in waist high water, but I don't care, I'm loving the nanoseconds I spend upright on the board!

Will be digging around here for tips, hints, and if anyone has any pointers on where else is beginner-friendly, I'd appreciate it!

Cheers :beer:

Dude. Welcome to the world of surfing and welcome to the Forum.

This is an excellent place for hints and tips, plenty of experience and plenty of posts from people. you will find you will suffer from the same problems and issues as all of us. Just search this forum and you'll find many many answers.

When you say beginner friendly are you asking waves or locals?

Already been mining the forums for a few tips, it's an absolute goldmine of info!

@CARBr6 - both mate! So far Rest Bay is my go - to spot, and as I'm only in the shallow white stuff I haven't had to worry too much about dropping in/snaking and the rest of surf etiquette :)

@Blane879 - I'm in Cardiff mate

@Dead_One - Cheers fella, I'm already hooked. Did 3 sessions in a row last week, had to give up when I couldn't pop any more..

@Surf Patrol cheers!

Sweet man I was from Newport way until I moved to Cornwall this year! I'm back home at least once a month and always make time to shred Rest Bay waves up. Drop me a private message man we can meet up and exchange tips and go surfing etc.
