Surfing Waves

Hi guys and girls. I'm be and I'm living in the canary islands. I used to body board a lot as there are some sick waves here but I had a bad accident and was bent in half by a wave in the Caribbean. I gave up body boarding and haven't been in the sea since. Ever since I stopped, I've put on loads of weight and want to learn to surf to get back in shape again. I hope to get to know a few of you and if your ever in the canaries, gimmie a shout and I'll let you know where to go

Come in summer time and the weather and water is great. Where you looking at going? I use magic seaweed to check the local surf reports. It might give you some idea of where you want to go.

My better half is a teacher so we have to take our holidays in August or at Easter time, not much choice apart from that!
I have recently made a contact who has a villa in Fuertaventura that he rents out pretty cheap. What's it like there?
Where would you recommend? If it helps I ride a 9'3" longboard and the missus is on a 6'8" Surf Betty

Well what dya know.... I live on fuerte! Corralejo has great waves but there are hammer heads in the area. I've never heard of any attacks there but I have seen one swim beneath me and it is scary.

El cortillo has an awesome surf spot and when it gets big its amazing. Deep water too so no getting slammed into the beach or rocks. No sharks either but there have been jellyfish swarms in the past. We get frek swarms of things all the time. August is the best time to come weather wise but Easter is very quiet and expensive too.
