Surfing Waves

What's going on guys? I'm Zach and well I was into downhil skating for about 5 years now and the scene has taken a bad turn here and I feel like its not what I want myself around anymore. That being said I remembered how well the surf crowd was. It was more family orientated and Just going out for the fun of it. Not out racing and beating the hell out of each other while going down. I was into surfing a bit in high school and picked up a lil on a 5'8 short board and it didn't do it justice obviously. So now I picked up a 7'5 liquid shredder funboard to learn bit more on. Just here to pick up on some info and guidance from the OGs.

Hi Zach, welcome to surfing waves, there is a lot of help and support here. It's a good site have a read around all the new board question a lot of answers are already there.
In order the help you yo weight and height would be a start and the shredder will be a first fun step towards surfing! The OGs have spoken

I'm about 5'7/5'8ish 130lbs.

So going by their chart for weight etc. you should be good, "Step into Liquid" and start shredding You realised the shortcomings of short in your beginnings you will do much better on this and then later on to the real stuff.
