Newbie Hello!

Hi everybody!
I am totally new to this site & forum.
I am a beginner surfer looking to develop my skills as a longboarder.
My fiancee is also a surfer, she is a little bit better than me and she is looking to develop her skills as a shortboarder. Hopefully we will find a middle ground on the medium waves!!
Our 'local' spot is Joss Bay in Kent, but it's still a 1hr 30min drive and never seems to have any waves when I am not at work!!
I learnt in Morocco a few years ago with a company called African Spirit Surf and a guy called Marcus Waters (very apt surname!) and cannot recommend them highly enough if anyone is after a great week or so surfing morocco's beaches then check them out.
Since then it has been mostly holiday trips in the summer to Polzeath.
My skills have come on, this year both my fiancee and I managed to get out of the rough and started to pick up the clean waves out the back, which felt amazing the sudden thrust of speed as you drop down the wave was great!
Now I am looking to develop the bottom turn so that I can prolong the ride and balance the board for a bit of walking. My fiancee wants to get her sharp turns in so she can fly about the wave.
So that's me and any hints or tips will be great. Also we both hope to finally get our own boards early next year so that we are ready to go whenever there is swell!
