So I've reached a point in my surfing where I've learned it on my own, watched tons of videos, scoured the internets for surfing etiquette and I'm pretty happy about the knowledge I have built so far.

But I've reached a point where I can learn only so much on my own and now it's time to ask questions and receive answers from surfers who have been doing this their whole lives. 8)

So a little about me and then I'll go post some questions elsewhere on the forums.

I'm originally from Minnesota, moved to Los Angeles about 1.5 years ago. Picked up surfing right away because my entire life has been centered around water and surfing was simply the next step in my evolution.

Wish I could surf every day but I work in the valley and traffic kinda prevents me from that during the week. So I'm a weekend surfer. Usually go twice a weekend Saturday and Sunday mornings when the winds are calm.

Recently began getting to know a few of the locals that I see every weekend. Some great guys that usually come out in the mornings.

If you happen to be out at Venice by the pier, there is a chance you might know me by face and board at least.

Hope to learn some great stuff here.
