New Guy

Postby LOLRuss » Sat Feb 23, 2008 11:05 pm

Hello. New to surfing. Got married in Hawaii and surfed at Waikiki a couple days. Got up, had a blast, and tried again at Haleiwa.

Got home, and moved to Flagler to live at the beach. Been here few weeks. Just got an 11' longboard and a wetsuit. am too damned fat to surf, but am working on it.

Went out today and didn't drown :D

I like head high glassy waves to 2 feet over head warm water ONLY
I ride a fish 6'0 need a new one every time I ride it I have to fix it its too old

go there, do it, it's awesome! I was there July and August last year and the waves were perfect - pipe was small enough for me to have a go (and im such a kook!) :D there's a great spot by diamond head which was almost always 4-6ft whenever I went there (english size that is!). avoid waikiki its way too crowded. There's a few nice secluded spots on Kauai too - so many places to explore.

Ahhhhhhhhh, clean, green, glassy waves, a gentle off shore breeze, warm water.

Enjoy!

Hey guys - Greg - 26 - SoCal US!!! :D

My goal this summer is to learn how to surf...well. ;)

I've been snowboarding and skateboarding for many moons, but ironically enough I live in SoCal and have never picked up surfing. I have windsurfed before and was able to stand and tack, so I'm hoping with all of my experience (previously mentioned) that I'll pick it up rather quickly. See you guys around!
