Hey all. I'm from the beautiful Cali Coast and am miserable in DC. I'm looking to make friends with similar interests... surfing, any water sports, punk/rock music. I'm in the Coast Guard and stuck here til 07. If anyone wants to hang out, lemme know. We can catch a show or some waves!

Hey, what's up?
I live about 15-20mins. from Ocean City, Maryland.
I'm 29 and I've got the 5 day a week job, so I'm surfing after work or on weekends. Now that the days have gotten shorter I don't have the light to surf after work . :(
I would consider myself an advanced beginner.
I've got a:
7'4" HIC (big guy modern style fish) that I started on.
6'6" Dahlberg, swallow tail (that board is so sweet) :D
Recent addition...
9'8" Yater

Hey there.
Just spotted this thread so an introduction is called for.
Chris. I used to run southampton university surf club back in 1990-1994 back then i bodyboarded and surfed very occasionally.
Took up kitesurfing in 1999 and have been going mad on my kites since then with the very occasioal surf thrown in. Started getting into wave sailing lots and began shaping my own kiteboard waveboards out of surfboard blanks.
Earlier on this year it seemed like a good idea to make a surf board as i was enjoying the waves so much.
7 boards later the summer seems to have gone up in cloud of board shavings. Really enjoying learning to shape and surf all at the same time! Adds a whole new aspect to surfing for me, riding my own boards and trying to ascertain if it's my surfing that's improving or my shaping that's improving. I don't know but i'm having lots of fum finding out.

Cheers KS

18 year old Male from all over california. I go to school up in Humboldt, and other times I'm either in the Monterey area, or Ventura. Boy was it a shock (litterally!) changing local grounds from the southern california warmer waters, to Humboldt's 45-50 degree waters...
