I am wondering if this would be a good board for me. I am 5 11 and 145lbs. I have surfed in the ocean for about 2 weeks, one week on a 8 foot softboard, and one week on a 5 10 INT fish (its a softtop
http://store.southpacificsurfshop.com/510retrofish.html) I like the fish, but it seems kinda slow, that or I need to work on paddling, as I can only catch the wave like a second before it breaks, so its really hard to get onto the face of the wave. I have also river surfed witht the 5 10 fish for a year now. The main thing is would the NSP fish be faster, or easier to catch the wave earlier on? Oh and would the 6 4 or the 6 0 fish be better, or one of the longer NSP shortboards (problem with these is they aren't as good for the river). Thanks.

i dont know that much about river surfing, whats that like? i imagine the nsp would be faster than the softtop, but for speed and handleing your probably better off with a poly board.

well I guess what I really want to know is for the ocean, which do you think would be a good board, the 6 0 fish, the 6 4 fish or one of the like 6 2 or 6 4 shortboards (NSP boards cause its all I can afford)

nsp's are kinda kooky. Support your local shaper instead.

do you want a board for river surfing as well as ocean surfing? if so id reccommend going epoxy coz its a bit tougher. i dunno how much different river surfing is to ocean surfing but nsp's arent great.

Well, I would use it for both, but I just want to know for the ocean, for someone who's 5 11 and 145 lbs, would say the 6 2 or 6 4 NSP shortboards, or the 6 0 or the 6 6 NSP fish be good for me. I have surfed for a week on a 5 10 INT softtop, and want something faster and easier to catch a wave on. Any help would be appreciated...
