Board question

Im a 5ft 7inch 110ish pound guy and ive surfed on a long board for a long time. Now ive decided to get a short board... so im looking for help on things to look for in a used shortboard. Also what specifications (width height) should I look for?

your like anorexic, it depends on you. I'm 5'9 and weigh 130. I ride a 6'1 and a 5'10, if your only 5'7 you could go down to a 5'8, but that might be too small. If you never ridden a short board, going from a longboard to short board is very very challenging.

yah, im a little afraid of changing from my longish board to a shorter one, but im going to do it sooner or later so why not now? so thanks i think ill get a long shortboard like 6'3" or something around that. hope im not anorexic
ur prob just more muscular than me or something

Uhm if it's your first shortboard, I would suggest a 6'4, because i was about your height and weight, make sure its wide and thick too, so its easier to paddle and catch waves, once you get good at that go down to a tiny fish or thruster.

ok thanks, about how wide and think? or does it matter that much?
