hey guys, im new to surfing, i have riden waes before, but im a noob/bad rider level

im v good on a skimboard tho, so relatively the same concept

anyhow, im goign to be surfing the FL east coast, for college, and i need a new board

i found this one
a Kechele and its 6 2

i dont know the rocker, and or if it is a good board for me to start out with
(also the guy says i can get it for 200$ used, a good price?)

Umm No!!

Its a good board looks in good shape. However for your level as eplained its not the right board to learn as advancement would be slow

Your not ready for a board like that yet. It would take you at least a year(s) to get decent when you could be having more fun on something better suited to a beginner. I suggest you look for an egg or funboard for starters. Once you've mastered the basics then you can progress to a shorter board.

I agree!

The board's shape and size will cause you a lot of grief. Get something a little longer, rounder and thicker.

And skim boarding is...well...skim boarding.

where you going to college?

if your reallly good at skimboarding, depending on your size and weight it might be a good board, and the price seems really good. i say this only because my friend who skimboarded for years was real good at that and then went and bought a 6' 2" rusty and can surf it no problem. so it boils down to wheather or not you want your first board to be very challenging or a walk in the park. thats just my 2 cents.
