Hi Everyone, i'm a design student and currently doing a project that is surf related, iv'e had a go at surfing before, i was rubbish at it but it was still great fun.
do you think a compact, waterproof storage "pod" that fits to your board would be a good idea? it would be made of a lightwieght plastic and fit probably near or through the leash so it cant fall off. it can be used to store keys, wallets, and as it is waterproof maybe even phones and compact cameras.
it would be great if you could respond and help with my project, cheers,..Dan!

It could be useful. Someone was on here not too long ago asking about what to do with there stuff.
I personally haven't had any need for such a thing...yet.

A friend of mine uses a waterproof camera bag for that sort of thing... seems to work ok and is about £30

personally i tihnk it would not be a good idea. it would be really difficult to make something that was actually secure on the board. also you try securing a pod to a board n not stading on it while surfing. its a nice idea but the bubbloc rash vest deals with the problem quite efficiently as far as i know. theres a waterproof pocket in the small of the back to store ur keys in. also most leashes have key pockets to put money n stuff in.

Wil it be big enough to store my sarnies?
Honesly anything that goes on the leash or leash plug is probably a no no.
and I cant see fixing something to the deck of any board viable realy.
A backpack would be a better option i think.

If it was on the leash it would cause drag and smash into your board/head. Can't see it working. I've never needed anything like that.
Also, I had a nightmare sticking keys in a leash once - it bent my key, and I was stood at the Witterings, on my own, getting dark, freezing cold, trying to straighten the key between a couple of stones, I'd have been stuffed if it broke.
My wetsuit has a key pocket inside it, which is much better.
