Surf Board Wax (Posted by Jesse_madden)

Hello is there any other Aussies on this forum, to humour my general interest? Anyway I tried the organic surfboard wax reciepe on here https://surfing-waves.com/howto/make_surf_wax.htm and it smells like wax, tastes like wax, feels like wax but it wont build up (form little bumps which results in traction) it just puts a smooth covering of wax over my board which is useless. Has anyone else tried this? and to the guy who sent in the recipe have you got any tips on what I might have done wrong? Im interested because its cheaper to make it in bulk (if it works out) than to buy it. Cheers
