Very Bad luck Nose repair advice needed

Postby isaluteyou » Tue Apr 03, 2007 8:26 pm

Talk about bad luck. Surf was knee high and mellow and yet i managed to shoot my shortboard right into the pier. It had a nose guard on but the nose is shattered underneath. It has not broken off but it looks mashed.

How do i pull the noseguard off? its stuck solid - im kinda worried that the nose itself is kaput but ah well.

Mind you my buddie board is in two pieces almost it happened on the same set wave  weird huh.

Anyway im drying my board out im thinking i might need to reshape the nose :(

Commiserations mate...

But while we're sharing hard luck stories,
I just completely trashed my favourite board on a really crap shorebreak, that I was only surfing for the sake of it, Dredgy, and on a bit of slab, it was not one of my better ideas.

Ripped the back fin box out, and buckled the nose.

Nose is well fixable, but does anyone have any experience with repairing or getting repaired that sort of damage- ripped out fin box??? (fcs by the by).

Try using and exacto knife to slice the nose guard off.

Glues usualy respond to heat (hair dryer) or alchohol based solvents, but IMO if the heat doesnt loosen it enough you'll be down to razor blades & a steady hand.

Good luck getting it off.
