Round Nose Fish sizing help!

Postby Apex27 » Sun Mar 04, 2007 6:42 am

Some Background on me: I'm about 5'8 and 165 lbs. I've been surfing for about a year now on a 7'4 fun board. I can pop up and ride, but far from anything fancy.

I wanna get a RNF Lost board and was told it needs to be my height or shorter. Also 19 in. 1/4 thickness maybe.

So any advice guys?

It does not necessarily have to be shorter than you.
My fish is 6' and I'm only 5'10 and I get on fine with those measurements.

yea, thats right, doesn't have to be shorter, maybe you could be better off going bigger, if you're coming down from a mal? up to you though

You're right, with a Lost rnf you do need to go your height or perferably shorter. If you don't you're not going to be able to be on the sweet spot with your front foot as well as the sweet spot on the tail n you'll be shuffling about to get on the sweet spots. Thats not the rule for all fish shapes though.

a lost rnf wouldn't be the best choice for coming down off a funboard, you'd probably be better off with a big short board around 6'6" or 6'8"
