Surfing Waves

hi guys
i havn't surfed for about 10 years,
and to celebrate my 30th birthday Im going to buy myself a board + get back into it again. Im 6ft, 87kg, would a 6'10 be suitable to get started again?

dimensions of the board are
6"10
10 7/8; 18 1/2; 13 3/8

the reason im asking is because my mate has the above board for sale

Not really, unless you absoloutley ripped before you gave up. At 87kg a 6'10 is like a 6'2 to a smaller guy and to be honest you will probably just end up frustrated and bored.

If your determined to go short (*eyeroll*) then i'd go for a 7'4 ish board but if you actually want to catch waves and have fun i'd be thinking of 8' and upwards.

Oh and you should search before you post, theres heaps of almost identical threads to this one.
