what brand watches do u guys wear when surfing to tell the time?

any specifics or like what?

dont want to know the time while im out sorta something i just do.

Something made by animal, It's waterproof to 10 bar and made from impact resistant marine grade steel (hard to kill). I've sent a few weaker watches to watery graves but this one seems to do the trick.

Tides comin' in, tide's going out, sun's comin' up, sun's going down...

why do I need to know the time in the water?

I know when its time to get out when im either to tired to popup/duckdive or its too dark to see approaching waves

I find a watch helps to make sure im not late for work
If I start turning up to work really late after a surf my boss will think im taking the pi$$ and wont accomodate me as much as she does.

I have an animal watch which has worked fine for years, only just started using it the water this year though.

i bought a waterproof watch about 5 years ago and it's never let me down - lakes, reservoirs, rivers, swimming pools and of course surfing in the sea. i always wear it in the water (apart from the bath obviously!). unfortunately i've never really looked at the make. i got it for £30 and i think it's something like "kahula". all i know is it begins with k and has an h in somewhere. i never really look at the little label!

any decent waterproof watch will do once you stick a velcro wrist strap on it.

I don't know about that...

My first watch I got to wear when surfing had a velcro strap. One day I took a big wipe out and the watch got ripped right off of my wrist.

Now I have one with the standard buckle style; no problems.

well ive lost about 3 watches as a kid with buckles on, never lost one with a velcro strap, cant imagina how it could get ripped off, my leash is velcro and that stays on even tho theres a board pulling on it, clever stuff velcro. Maybe you had a cheapo strap?

for you all that are wonderin what i need the time for, as much as i would love to surf a day, i have to go to school. cuz i surf before school starts, and i've been late a lot recently, so i decided to get a watch

get an enormous clock, and set it up at the beach so you can see it from the line up.

i dont like watches but need one, i wish their was something really small and skinny that i could sow in my wetsuit or on. Then if people look at me they know the time.

I got a ripcurl girl watch when I was in australia, water proof to 100 metres. Have had it for 4 years and it's a part of me now. Some day my body will simply absorb it I suppose. However, if you need to repalce batteries on non-digital waterproof watches it can be pricey, cost me 40 euro the one time I had to do it.

Ive got a Nixon watch thats been great has a sort of semi rubberised strap that hasn't perished at all!
Its got a twin pin buckle and a lock down thing as well! so it aint never comin off!
Its also got a button that when pressed lights the face up! great for when its getting dark!
