I got it Sunday; and of course there were no waves until Wednesday.
It is deffinately different, and took a little while to get used to. It was a little weird paddling around on that thing. The whole board is under water. None of that "keep the nose an inch or so out of the water". It was more working paddling around than my shortboard (6'6" x 19.5" x 2.5"), but not bad.
I was concerned that it would be too advanced for me, but no worries anymore. I managed a decent session for my first time out on it. It gets into waves fairly easily once you figure out your positioning on the board. It's really loose and pretty fast too; turns can be real tight if you want.

I can't wait to get back on it again, but I'm going to have to (no waves).
Soooo stoked! 8)

Different. Shaping that outline and putting the rails in can't have been easy. The fins are they ply and have they been glassed? Good job.

The fins are just plastic.

That looks soooooo funky!! I can't figure out how the tail on that board would handle (lol, maybe cos I've had a bottle of wine and everything seems a bit confuseling!), but it looks wicked!!

Kepep ys updated on how it surfs...I might WANT ONE!

The tail is pretty much like a standard fish; except it's pulled in.

It is deffinately loose; you can turn as little or as much as you want. It's very responsive.

Unfortunately I can't comment any more on how it surfs. I've only had that one day of waves, and it looks like it's going to be flat all week. Maybe there will be something for the weekend, however, that looks iffy right now too. :(
Why does it always seem like when you get a new board; there are no waves?!?! AAARRGGHHH :x

This is off their website:

Recommended Size Range: 5’2” - 6’4”
Usually ride "The Squid" 8 inches shorter than a normal shortboard. The bottom features a single-to-double concave with light vee off the tips of the swallow tail. The wing (or "stinger") breaks the line of the rail to allow for better release when turning. Custom order tints are available. Fins are standard fish fins, with a touch more rake. Fin systems are available as glass-ons, Future Fins, or FCS.
