How often do i need to apply wax on my board? Right now im using a base of Sticky bumps and a top of the green mr. zogs. I surf santa cruz.
Also do board bags help at all cause when i strap my board down to my car drive to my spot and take it off i get bald spots ( i do put it fins up). Would a board bag prevent this?

Hello Chris, and a warm welcome to the forum.... I don't usually mix do a basecoat and a topcoat or anything because I can't be bothered with that stuff..... however, you should initially look to put a good coat on that does the job more than anything else..... as long as your feet don't slip, yyou got a good enough coat of wax! As for how often, when your feet start slipping, put more coats.
I'm not gonna wax lyrical (hahaha that is funny) about this, but after a few waxes, your board should end up with a load of bumps that are higher than the rest of the wax.
happy waxing!

a good base to start off with and a good solid wax job does the trick get it nice n bumpy. I start off with a good wax job and only really apply extra when it gets a bit thin otherwise i mainly use a wax comb to rough it up. Then again i dewax my board every 6 weeks and apply a new wax job.

get a board bag anyway if your strapping your board on your car, think about when your hammering down the motorway at 70mph on the way to the beach, any loose stone chips kicked up are gonna be hitting your board pretty hard, protect it.

dunno, i got a creatures of leisure bag cos it was much cheaper than the rhino ones and seemed to be just as good quallity, but even just a board sock will add a little more protection from the elements when its on the car.

You should definately use a board bag.
The loose stone thing going down the road is a good example, plus don't forget about the times you might accidently bump it into something, ect.
Plus they come in handy for traveling, like in airports.
Get a bag that you can easily fit more than one board into easily is my suggestion. If you could squeeze an extra board or two into it, it might save you some money at the airport.
