sanding

I was wondering how to sand down dings ? I am recently dinging up my board pretty bad and fixing them on my own and wondering what type of sand paper is good to use. Last night I tried sanding down a ding and my lungs felt kind of weird afterwards, fuzzy lilke. Should I sand it down with a face mask since it seemed to go through as well.

yh, use a face mask, and use light sand paper, not the ruff stuff
