Surfing Waves

Okay I've had a couple of lessons on the foam deck boards, and hired a few times, i've finally been getting enough money together to get my first board.

I'd still class myself as a beginner, so I'm not sure what board to buy.

I'm 6ft 2 - 182lbs. I've been looking at the Bic Natural Surf 2 - 7' 9" and the Bic Magnum 8' 4" but I don't want to buy a huge board if i can get away with it. Also could I maybe get away with a 7' 6" for my size or is it a bit small for learning on?

What do you folks recommend? Thanks in advance

i think ur the most sensible beginer iv ever met, i would go for the 7'9", but you wil probably be abel to get away with the 7'6

At 6'2 and your weight I'd be looking at the 7'9. It'll make life easier in the water.

I learnt on the 7'9" Bic. A real good board to learn on. i can recommend it.
You will grow out of it quite fast, but that doesnt matter cos it'll hold its value.
im looking to get something different now after using it for a year or so. still undecided.

The 7' 9" it is then, really that is the one i had my eye on, as I wanted a challenge but not to make it too difficult that I would lose interest.

One more pay day at the end of the month and the Bic Natural Surf 2 is mine WOOT!!

im 6.1 and started learning on a 7.8 so a 7.9 sounds like a good deal.

Ello, similar question really. I wana buy a beginner board but duno wot length to go for. I'm 5" 7", n weigh 8 stone 6. dunno how many pounds that is..... a hundred n twenty something?! please help! miaw XXxxXX

hi there...go for a minimal something with alot of byounancy like the BiC 7'9 great beginners board and cheap and wont crack if you drop it.

That is me when I was 15 months old! I was born in South Africa.

We went to a Game reserve, and this was in the childrens part. I saw the Cub and wanted to play with it but it was asleep so I kicked it and pulled at it to wake it up, but it didn't. I started toddling off back to my folks when it awoke and decided it wanted to play with me lol.

That is me getting pounced on, ah great times.....
