Does anyone use, or know of anyone who uses corrective eyewear for surfing? Contacts really don't work for me and I'm looking for alternatives. There is this company called Sea Specs which do glasses for surfing, just wondering if anybody has heard of them??

Thanks

Hey there,

I use contact lenses as I'm so short sighted I look like a mole! Should be dailies when I'm surfing so I can chuck them once they're all salty, but I've got away with fortnightly ones so far.

If contacts don't work for you I know you can get goggles, like the kind you have for swimming, with lenses in them from an optician. But they're expensive (and look a little weird!) Plus, you don't see many surfers with goggles...

I think iomarti's had a post about this somewhere too....

Happy hunting
x

i don't know how to put a link up, but its called 'surfing with bad vision', use the search on the top right of the page.

I think the eventual consensus was to use daily disposable contacts.

I managed to lose a contact lens kayaking in san diego this weekend when another kayak came over a wave sideways and slammed me in the face. It gave me second thoughts about using contacts for surfing.
