Hey guys, I just picked this board up from my friends roommate. Its a Ripcurl. I havent measured it yet but it looks to be around 6'8" or so. Three fins. Not too much written on the stringer except for "jesus is love" and "Shros II Tri". The shaper is Bill Shrosbree. couple of dings and one repair job on one of the rails. Any information you guys can give me on how old you think this board is, anything about the shaper, or any other stuff about this board (whether its a sweet board or a total POS) would be awesome. Thanks!

well I'v been googling Bill Shrosbree's name and apparently he shaped for ripcurl in 1980 and 1981 which I guess would make this board about 25 years old.

oh yea if it makes any difference, it also says on the top of the board that it was glassed by moonlight glassing.

I got ya beat on the old board thing, I have a 1978 Sunline. Can't read the sig to tell who it was shaped by though. Yours looks in better shape though.

Theres an old saying:

"He who dies with the best preserved "vintage" board wins"

That being said, my brother has us both beat I think. He found my dads old Hansen longboard from the 70's behind the shed one day and it was in pretty much mint condition. We brought it into the local surfshop one day and the owner of the shop offered us a large sum of money for us to part with it so its gotta be atleast a little special (I know next to nothing about surfboards so to me its just a huge weird tyedied hunk of fiberglass).

When it comes to surfboards is old generally considered bad?
