bic have to be one of the worst shortboard companys, but their longboards are ok. what does everyone els think.

Great if you're learning to pop-up/starting to surf, but not if you any better.

+ I don't like these popout compainies because it ruins buisness for your local shaper (And he/she probably knows better for your area)..Rant finished :lol:

Ive got a bic mini-mal, it was all i could afford at the time, i needed a new crash helmet. I think that my saftey comes well before a better board, ive had no problems with it, it will do for now...........

I've never surfed a full on Bic longboard, but I have surfed their mini mals a few times, and I think they're fun, and not bad to be honest. There are better boards, but if it was all I had, I wouldn't complain.

I've only owned 5 boards. All were local hand shaped. I like the idea of buying a local made board because I know they were shaped for the conditions I surf.

I almost bought a Joel Tudor once, and wood love to have a Cooperfish, but I'll stick to the locals for now.

I voted nay, but don't judge anyone for what they ride. Them waves don't know one brand from the next.

Dont worry bout owning a bic, I had the 7'3 bic mini mal as my first board. They are alright for beginners but you can get bored of them after you know how to surf.

good advice, you get that from a film:lol: :lol:

, theirs a similar line in scratching the surface " it doesnt matter whats under your arm when your walking down to the beach, its how you ride it"

I've rented a couple of bics from Surfed out at Saunton sands years back. Seemed alright, but then I'm a beginner!

Mind you if they're razors are ANYTHING to go by, avoid them like the plague!

I am a beginner and have brought a bic mini mal on the grounds I wanted a nice easy board to learn on!! I nearly got one one of them foam jobbies I had lessons on but I felt there wouldnt be any advancement on them!! Once I get the nack of more fluid surfing on my bic, then I will definatley be investing in a smaller hand crafted board although my local spot is Joss Bay in Kent (UK) which isnt exactly the most glamerous surfing spot and therefore no surf shops but great for learners like me!!
