Which board?

I have been surfing for about three months on and off in Byron Bay, on a 7'6 hardboard but I had to sell it before I left to come back to the UK
so now I need a new one.
I found the 7'6 a bit big to carry around but was quite happy paddling around on it. I also was fine standing up - i've been practising on an indo board.
I've seen a beautiful 7'3 hard board, do you think this would be okay, or maybe i should get a pop out, i dinged my old one quite a bit. Any advice would be good.
I'm gonna be surfing on the south coast mainly, and hopefully in Northern Spain later on in the year
