Rail Damage

I've got damage on each rail of my longboard.

One side as a long rough line; not really a crack per say, and the other side as two lines further down the board.
It's like the cloth is showing through or something (I'm not really sure).

Any thoughts on the severity of the damage and what might need to be done?

On a side note:
On my shortboard, on the bottom, I've noticed a couple of bubbles under the glass job. Nothing really big, but I wasn't sure if they could turn into a bigger problem.
I couldn't really get any pics at the time because the board is white and the flash of the camera just made the entire picture bright white! (and no flash was too dark)
Any thoughts?

Thos ehave to be the most annoying kind of ding. No so bad as you'd want to break into the rail to get it repaired properly but bad enought to let water in. If you know of anyone who usues fibreglass just get them to put abit of clear resin over the crack and leave it would be my advice just to keep it water tight. Them when you've picked up a few more dings get them all repaired in one go properly so the board looks good again.

All my boards have got those dings :D :D :D

I just fill them with wax :?

Seems to do the trick.......until you want a proper repair :?

i got loads of them, its like the surfboard equivalent of a bruise. They show up more on your board because of the dark colour, if you had a plain white plank you probably wouldnt even notice them.

Thanks for the replys. I picked up a DIY kit at the best surf shop it town IMHO (Malibus, if any of you are in the area). If it is not all cloudy or raining out by the time I get home from work I'll fix it up this evening.
