I ordered a rash quard, im new to surfing.

It said to use my shirt size, which is Mens-Medium.

I am 5 5, 125 pounds.

Is a Mens-Medium too big?

Should I have settled for a small??

If i did this wrong then i basically lost $40, shirt + shipping.

:(, help please :?:

Dont worry about it!!! If it's too big, you'll soon grow into it because of all the muscles you're gonna build from paddling :D

:D! Considering i;ve recently started working out too, should help a little :).

My uncle gave me his custom-built surfboad he got a few years back , its an Orion... well LENT it to me, so until he comes back to florida i will be using it. When he gets back i have to get my own :(, lol.

But I will probably be a regular here because I hope to be surfing alot!!

Welcome to both of you.....I think you'll find it's a really friendly forum and everyone's very helpful...just one word of advice, check out older threads before you post a question, cos a lot of the time, the answers are there somewhere.
I'm off to bed. I just got in from work and it's 3.36 am here in the UK 8)

Well, i did that too. Mine was too big, so my wife shrank it in the wash, and it fits perfect now

Aren't rashvests tight-fit in general? If you wear medium clothing and you order medium rash it shouldn't be a problem as they will be smaller than average medium.

It doesn't really matter how the rashie fits, as long as the suit fits properly. I mean I know rashies are supposed to be skin tight but if you are wearing under a suit it won't make any difference. Its ok for the rashie to be a bit baggie but it doesn't want to be too tight (as in restrictive), but it sounds like it will fit just fine anyway. 8)

I hate tight cloths, and rash guards drove me nuts So I did some searching, and found O'Neil made a Tshirt fit rash guard. It fits like a loose T shirt, and has a loop to tie your baggies to so it doesn't ride up your back.

size is too small

i'm also a newbie in surfing and i have the opposite problem.

i searched the web and found out that rashguards should fit tightly...

i bought one online and ordered a size smaller than my tshirt size.

and now, i can't even move properly whenever i wear it and i'm afraid it might tear. it's so small... and it shrank after i washed it.

i'm such an idiot!

please help...

what should i do :?:

You washed it? Only time my rash guard, or baggies get washed is when I'm in the ocean. Both are black ONeils, and the board shorts have a lot of wax on them. Drives my wife nuts, but I think it gives them character.
