Hi guys,
I have only seen one post on here about someone selling one of these, no one actually talking about how they ride...has anyone used one that would care to share their thoughts?
I have found a brand new one going for $200. I have never surfed before, 5'11", 175. Does this seem like a good board for me?

depends what sort of waves your likely to be surfing on, id say the minimal is probably a better bet,

well im in southern california (marina del rey - next to venice), so the waves aren't really huge here, but they're decent.
the thing is that its only the magnum that i can find for this deal. so if that doesn't seem like a good board, im gonna have to look for a completely different brand, it's not like im going to a Bic store, just found this one on a craigslist post.

well i dont know much about bics, i only know one person with one and thats the minimal. If the waves near you arent brilliant then youll do ok an a big board like that. For an absolute begnner i still think foamy boards are the way to go. Have a look around at second hand boards in your price range in local surf shops too, theres no need to buy a brand new board especially if your thinking about getting a popout.

yea, i have been looking at mostly second hand boards.
the only reason why im looking at this new one is because it is cheaper than almost every other used board of the same type that ive found.

As a newbie I think a Bic is the way forward + they are pretty indestructable so if you dont like surfing then the resale price should be pretty good.
