Surfing Waves

I'm 5'8, 165-170 lbs., have almost 2 years of surfing experience, am currently riding a 7'4" funboard usually on the South Shore of Hawaii, and am currently looking for a new shortboard for small to medium waves with a good balance of drive and maneuverability. Basically, I want to be able to maintain speed through relatively small, weak sections but still be able to make quick snaps and turns. Does anyone have any suggestions for surfboard dimensions and/or tail types?

in you get waves regulary and their normaly big right?

if not i would advise a fish, but if you do i have no idea what you would need ( i surf in an area with hardely and swell)
