how to remove decal from a surfboard?

how to remove decal from a surfboard?

Hi!
I have BIC ACS 8'4'' Magnum (brand new one) and I want to paint it. But it is vary hard ro remove decal from it :evil: . Any suggestions, how to do it?

m8 i had exactely the same problem with my bic 9'. mine started to come of in the water, but if yours dont, get a wax combe and scratch the hell out of the stickers ( dont use the pointey side) dont wory about it scratching, its a bic their indestructable. it will take a very long time but its worth it, i had a few peeps come up to me and ask what my board is cas it perfomed so well and when i said it was a bic they just laffed.

Good boards will have the logo's printed on rice paper and then glassed below the surface of the hot coat. There ain't no way of getting that out.

Otherwise, if its a sticker or paint, razor blades, wet sanding....

I re painted an old merrick MSG that was all bloodied up with paint and crap, it took a while but it came off.

I found that wet sanding really got it off the fastest
