surfboard + ford ka

Is this an accident waiting to happen?

I'm a surfing newbie and after having a few surfing lessons i think i'm ready to buy a board. The one thing that's stopping me is my car - it's a ford ka so only little and I'm worried that a 7'6" board wouldn't travel on it very well. I have visions of the wind lifting it off the rack a flinging it down the road!

If anyone has any experience with surfboards on diddy cars or suggestions i'd really appreciate it. Cheers! :D

Me and Brent managed to carry around three boards (one 7' and the other two around the 6' mark) using soft racks on his mazda mx5 i.e a soft top for over a week. As long as you make sure they are tight down you should be fine.

I used O&E soft racks on a Mazda 323 Astina for over 3 years with boards from 6 to over 9 foot with no problems... using same racks now with a Toyota Corolla and 9'6" and still hame no problem. depends on how well you tie them down... take care there will be no problems.
