Help with Surfboard Decoration

Postby cyberchicken » Thu Feb 16, 2006 11:13 am

I'm poppin my shaper cherry shortly. I'm making a 7'7'' or 7'8'' minimal to start with. I've made an alliance with a more experienced shaper so I'm not to worried about the actual shaping of the board, but none of us have much experience with decorating and I can't find much advice on the internet either. Do any of you know any good links to pages that concentrate on decorating tecniques?

*Should I paint directly on the foam or on the fiber?
*Are there any types of paper or plastic that one can draw/paint on and then just stick in the layers somewhere?

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

You probably want to paint straight onto the glass and then seal it in with a few waterproofing coats.

Yet to pop my cherry and make a stick but I have a good friend who decorates boards. Good luck!
