longboard fin problems *IMAGE INSIDE* - help please

i've tried pushing it down as far as i can and thats as far as it will go. as you can see the back does not sit flush/even with the board. can anyone help me with this problem? or can anyone relate?

I can see the problem but its hard to tell from the angle of the pic what the cause is.
If thats a new fibreglass fin you sometimes need to carefully sand down the edges of the base of the fin to get them to drop down into the slot in the fin box properly.

be real careful when you do that tho...my i had a friend with that problem who deff went sand crazy and just jacked it all up

is it not fitting because the sides are too thick or because it has hit the base of the fin box??
Fin-boxes sometimes warp slightly in the board making them tighter in certain parts. As the post above says, you need may need to sand the fin down slightly on each side until you get a snug fit.
If the fin has hit the bottom of the box and will not fit, then you need to sand down the very bottom of the fin a few mm at a time until it fits.
