old school fishes

I'm considering an twin-fish; one of the old school style ones. Like either the Joel Tudor fish or the Derek Hynd/Bushrat one.
What I want to know is: are they good boards for 'all-round' conditions - or really just for long point waves?

I want a board that encourages a very fluid style; that I can focus on maintaining speed through turns. I want to do less vertical/explosive surfing; favouring fluid, speed, & smooth figure-8 cutties.

However - I want a board that will still give me fun on short rides.

Can anyone provide feedback on these style of boards??

Honey !!!!
Nice curry for tea, yum yum (the girl can cook guys:-)))))

Now Fish. A topic dear to my heart, but really I could write a fleshin novel bout them and it's all been written before, countless times. If you want to see thousands of posts (I'm not kidding- 16,000 plus posts) written by lovers, shapers, riders & masters of all things piscitorial go to shapers site www.swaylocks.com. Search under the word "fish" and see what happens.

But before you ask any questions - search. They bite otherwise.

You mean to say that you're not going to spoon-feed me at all!!??

Seriously, though. If you are wise on the subject, I would love to hear your answers to my query.
I did get a hefty response back from Derek Hynd, but it didn't really address what I was asking.

In the meantime, I'll check out the other forum & let you know how I go....

Nice site..... still ploughing through it, but the first couple of threads have tuned my right in!

It seems my new board choice is on the right lines to what I am after......

I've got an old 24"-30" 1970s skateboard, real flexy deck & poly wheels. I'm looking for that flow.... & cutties; that's all I want: cutties with flow, style & speed.
