7’6 Indio the Egg or 8’0 Torq Longboard?

Hello,

I am feel myself ready to go for an hard top board.

After one year and a half of surfing soft boards and learning the basics, now i can confidently ride along the face of the wave back side and front side (on 50cm waves or in 1m waves).

I have also started to do the first bottom turn when the conditions allows me to practice it.

I want to progress with an easy board which i can catch a lot of waves and keep training all the basics, but I really want to change my 7’ softie because I feel it skatey and like a big volume is packed in a short lenght, i really hate the feeling, the sane doesn’t happens with my wife 7’8 softie i can catch like 10/10 waves i paddle for.

I was looking for a 8ft or 8’6ft Torq Longboard which seemed to be easy and usable in every conditions from 0.5cm to 1.5m, but talking with my surf instructor and with a guy at the shop, the suggest me to go for a 7’6” with a good volume because of my height (174cm) weight (76kg) and fitness shape.

The suggest me a 7’6 Indio the Egg (60liters) or a Torq Mod Fun 7’6”.

I usually surf like 6-8 Times a month (we dont have waves so often) so i want to maximize my time in the water with a board i dont have to struggle as hell to tale waves and improve

Which one u suggest?

Neither of those 7'6"s. Go with your first instincts and get an 8'0".

Thx for the advice!

Do you think an 8’ with thruster setup is better than a 8’6 with 2+1?

I was looking for one of thise three boards:

Which one is better?

I like 2+1 setups as you can make it a "thruster" if you install a 3" center fin. But it's really hard to find a 8'0" with 2+1 setup.

At your current level / experience, I think the 8'0" will be fine even though it's a "thruster" set up. I won't be your last board, so don't fret about it too much.

Thanks for the help!

I have bought a Torq 8ft second hand, but in good conditions, just some little superficial ding on the paint.

Can’t wait for the weekend, praying for waves
