Hi, is this a decent board?

I'm a competent beginner surfer and looking to take something with me on a 3 month+ surf trip to Sri Lanka. Is this suitable for my level?

Is the damage/marks on the board bad? And is that price reasonable?

Board is fine small solar epoxy resin repairs will do the trick.
i would however review the plan to go to Shri Lanka at the moment severe civil unrest and shortage offuelmeans you might have to walk from Colombo to the surf zone, even the Tuk Tuk drivers are hang quiet!
Seriously check out your plans against he current situation !

I was planning on heading there in December so hopefully the situation will be better by then.

Is there another destination you'd recommend for December onwards? Hot weather and not too advanced surf.

Would you go for this one or the one in the OP?

I like Diplock shapes and it looks a good board, the extra fin options enable you to mix and match beyond a single fin ito other configurations.
Good progressive board to hone your skills on:
BTW check well before you go anywhere which airlines are longboard friendly
Most good surf destinations have a good range of hire boards from the saggy mess to just under new quality

Have a look at Torq longboards too very well liked forum members. The UK prices for new are pretty much what you are looking at for the two boards you have shown

just couple of small considerations. PU = polyurethane foam standard resin glassing is slightly heavier than and easier to ding through to the foam than Epoxy Expanded polystyrene =EPS which is lighter and less water damagable but always needs epoxy resin for repairs ( or it dissolves)
See what you think, Look at the PU board if you see browning of the foam or shrinking around the stringers = water damage heavier still.
Both boards look pretty clean.

First board says "catches waves like a dream but with thinned out rails it's a real performance model."
